in fashion tonight

tonight (sunday march 14) at 5:00pm, in fashion will be running a story about canadian fashion designer nada's fall 2010 campaign, which i had the awesome job of art directing. running across print, ads, web and the coolest part...a 3d fashion film.

oh yeah. instead of a runway show, we are presenting nada's collection in a 3d martial arts short film. the film takes the viewer through a game scenario - first building a fembot warrior through a game interface (designed by yours truly) and then into three fighting acts.

in addition to the stroy tonight, you will be seeing nada, myself and the members of this incredible team on entertainment tonight, fashiontelevision, star tv, cnw, canadian business and a host of other outlets all week long.

the 'vote for pheinixx' campaign

i'm thinking of printing up "vote for pheinixx" t-shirts, and brad is rehearsing his show-stopping dance number for the assembly - all because marketing magazine has chosen me to be a finalist in their creative faceoff. i am one of 25 on the shortlist for this uber-cool title.

the special award from new york

we are heady with after-glow. while at a special dinner at the cosmopolitan club in new york city, over 70 directors from 6 countries gathered to recognize fashion achievements at the annual fgi awards. we are thrilled to share in both of toronto's two awards: myself as the creative director behind the 2008 night of stars and for pencil's design of the new fgi website.

susan glick, district director and nyc board member described the 2008 toronto night of stars as a "flawless" event, mentioning specifically the design of the communications and decor - directed by yours truly.

fgi was also honoured with a specially created recognition award this evening for the branding and website design, of which pencil is the sole design sponsor. i took on the re-branding of this chapter in 2007 when i joined the board and has polished this organization's identity into the professionally fashionable powerhouse it is now.

we are appreciative for the recognition from the new york headquarters, and are proud to provide all of fgi's graphic design and art direction - including their website, invitations, annual brochures and special event creative direction. check out the winning website at www.fgitoronto.org
